About the Three Lakes Community Foundation

By establishing our community foundation, we have begun to build a sustainable financial resource within the greater Three Lakes area to advance the common good. We obtained our non-profit charitable 501(c)(3)status in 2017 and are just beginning to grow. Similar to some 700 other community foundations in the United States, we are forming lasting links between generous donors like you and the community we love.

Endowment is a common thread among community foundations. By endowment we mean a permanent fund in which the principal is never touched. Annually, a stated percentage of investment earnings from the endowment becomes available for community grant-making. It is a proven way for creating a lasting legacy to the needs of the community.

In addition to endowments, there are many other Ways to Give as you will see in the accompanying piece. The Three Lakes Community Foundation is a resource to help you find ways best suited to leave your mark on the community.

Our mission statement is to enhance and support opportunities that make Three Lakes THE place to live, work and play.

In such a short time, we have already made an impact including:
  • Facilitating community meetings to gain input throughout the community on commonly agreed steps to enhance Three Lakes.
  • Grants to:
    • Demmer Memorial Library Foundation in conjunction with its expansion
    • Three Lakes Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
    • Three Lakes School District Fab Lab
    • Three Lakes Fish and Wildlife Organization
    • Three Lakes Waterfront Association
    • Three Lakes Lions Club
    • Three Lakes Center for the Arts
    • Three Lakes Historical Society
  • Rising Star Scholarship to graduating high school seniors
  • Cheers for Volunteers Award to outstanding community volunteers
